Alright folks, it is confession time…I am a Weekend Warrior.
What exactly is a Weekend Warrior, you ask? Urban Dictionary describes one as “a person who holds a regular job during the week which restricts their ability to party/go on trips/partake in awesome activities, and thus plans epic weekend adventures to compensate. As much variation and quantity of awesomeness is packed into the weekends as physically possible, warranting the rest of the work week to recharge for the next weekend.”
If you are a snow lover as I am, your love of winter sports will leave you longing for the weekends with high hopes of being blessed with some good snow. Your lunch break at work will be spent by constantly looking up snow reports, weekend forecasts and the amount of slopes open at your favorite ski resort.
You will do snow dances in your car and pray to Ullr, the God of snow. At home, you will check the wax on the base of your skis, touch the newly sharpened edges of your board or even walk around in your boots and women's ski jacket to test out their level of comfort.
Being a Weekend Warrior is a way of life for many skiers and riders. When the weekend finally arrives, a Weekend Warrior's excitement level rises to that of a child's on Christmas morning. It is finally time to head to the mountains and have an epic day of skiing or riding!
