When you meet Gabi Viteri you can’t help but secretly wish you could walk a day her shoes.  There is no doubt that she has an awesome job- as a team rider for Burton Snowboards, she has traveled extensively riding mountains most of us can only dream about.   The most striking thing about gabi though isn’t her dream job, or her Breckenridge Colorado lifestyle, it’s her insta-charm.  The type of laid back super happy fun loving personality that makes every woman secretly a tiny bit jealous.
Where is your hometown?
I grew up in Highlands Ranch, Colorado and lived there till I was about 13 then moved up to Breckenridge, and now I am still here and loving it.
What is the best part about being sponsored by Burton?
Because if you turn the B sideways you can spell Gabi! Haha but seriously all the opportunities like traveling around the world and meeting the coolest people ever. Every time I travel I am stepping outside of my comfort zone, and those experiences have allowed me to grow so much as a person and keep memories I'll never forget.
You have traveled to so many places around the world- what has been your favorite destination?
I can't say I have had a favorite place. Some places like Hawaii and London are definitely visually more appealing, but every place I have had a blast even snowboarding on a hill in West Virginia in the rain.
Where is the most unique place you’ve snowboarded, and why?
The most unique place would have to be in Montreal. Finding things to snowboard on there was a "unique" task to say the least. You really have to open up your mind to any possibilities because there is so much to do there. It's not like going to a mountain where everything is set up--you really have to open up your mind and use your imagination to what you can set up and snowboard on. Like wall rides or weird rails.
If you could live anywhere that you’ve traveled to, where would it be and why?
There is something about Hawaii that has really taken a part of my heart! I love the beach and the island more than anything, the only reason I am not there is because the mountain there isn't the best if you could only imagine.
What do you enjoy doing in your down-time?
Relaxing! It took me a while to learn this, but now I really enjoy it. I read, watch movies, go on hikes and do yoga. When I am traveling a lot I don't get to see my family, doggy and friends… So I try to soak up that time as much as possible.
What is your favorite mountain in Colorado?
I would have to say Copper and Vail for free riding and Breckenridge for park. There are so many mountains here it is hard to choose one!
I hear you have a little niece--Do you take her snowboarding? If so, what is your favorite part about taking her on the mountain?
She loves to snowboard but now that she lives in Hawaii she's gonna be surfing!
Name five of your current favorite songs on your ipod that you listen to when riding:
"Oogum Boogum"- Brenton Wood
"All Good"- Bone Thugs-N-Harmony
"Money"- Dub Side of the moon
"We Be Steady Mobbin'"- Lil' Wayne ft. Gucci Mane
"Untrust Us"- Crystal Castles
