As the winter Olympics are approaching, and we gather around the television to watch professional skiers and snowboarders take on the mountain, have you ever wondered “Well, I would like to try that! But I’m too old, and I don’t have experience, and where would I begin?" This is the month to do it! From Alaska to North Carolina (and states in between), January is national Learn to Ski & Snowboard Month.
With over 300 ski resorts in the U.S., and many within a quick distance of a major city, there is great access to get on the mountain. Today, learning to ski or snowboard has never been easier! Most ski resorts offer a Learn To Package that includes lift tickets, rentals, and lessons with a professional instructor. To celebrate this month, some resorts will also offer a Buy One Get One Free or Bring A Friend. Visit www.skiandsnowboardmonth.org for more information.
BENEFITS:
Not only are skiing and snowboarding a lot of fun, but these are healthy, outdoor winter activities that will burn lots of calories, lift the spirits, and keep you fit this winter.
